Start the year off right by attending this FREE two-day invaluable training hosted by ACLU of San Diego and Imperial Counties and Mid-City CAN (Community Advocacy Network).

We encourage you to attend both sessions to assess your organizing capacity, analyze power in your community, and identify your next steps.

The training will be provided by Alliance for Justice (AFJ) and Strategic Concepts in Organizing & Policy Education (SCOPE).

  • AFJ will introduce the PowerCheck Quick tool and will guide us through a workshop to assess the organizing capacity of our organizations and coalitions.
  • AFJ is a leading authority on the legal framework governing nonprofit advocacy, and SCOPE assists community groups organize, develop leaders and build capacity to address critical social issues. AFJ’s PowerCheck tool teaches nonprofits, evaluators, and funders to assess capacity, plan successfully, and track progress over time.

  • SCOPE’s Power Analysis is a visual and interactive tool used to map and understand power relationships in the communities we live in and our workplaces.
