Hello Mid-City community! My name is Stephanie Romero and I am delighted to be a Media Intern for Mid-City CAN. I was born and raised in San Diego and at a young age was inspired to fight for justice and social change for my family and the entire community. In this day, I have taken an artistic approach to express my thoughts.
I am a recent college graduate from the University of California, Santa Cruz, were I received my Bachelor of the Arts in Art, emphasis in photography, combined with an education minor. I have extensive experience working with youth and the community and I love incorporating the arts, culture and education with the people I interact with and places I work in.
In my spare time, you can find me involved in the arts. I assist at two local museums were I have had the opportunity to work with K-8 grade students, archiving at their library, or simply interacting with the public at their general events.
As an intern here Mid-City CAN, my goal is to build a long lasting network with the entire Mid-City community: community officials, members and leaders. In addition, I would like to share with you my expertise while simultaneously learning from your experiences, knowledge, and the love for Mid-City.
