The initiatives listed below are implemented by members and member organizations of Mid-City CAN.
- Mid-City Family Resource CenterA collaborative effort in partnership with SAY, San Diego and Home Start, Inc.
- UCSD Academic Center of Excellence on Youth Violence Prevention In partnership with UCSD Community Pediatrics
- Central Region Alliance - A joint effort of community collaboratives within the Central Region of the County of San Diegos Health and Human Service Agency (HHSA)
- The Caring Council an alliance of community members and organizations working together in advocating for the reduction of poverty
- Crawford Community Connection a Healthy Start Collaborative providing a variety of services to children and families within the Crawford Cluster of schools.
- Latinos y Latinas en Accion - a leadership development project funded by the Waitt Family Foundation.
- Proyecto Casas des Saludables - funded by the California Endowment, this initiative is working to address renters' rights issues by focusing on lead, mold and substandard housing health assessments.
- Mid-City CAN is a member of A Community Coalition for Responsible Development (ACCORD), a coalition of grassroots organizations in San Diego dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for low-income workers and residents by ensuring that development projects create good jobs, affordable housing, and a clean and healthy environment.
- Mid-City CAN is a member of the San Diego Coalition for Fair Banking Services which is working to address
"economic aparthied", an issue best illustrated by the increasing lack of banking services in low-income communities and communities of color. In the absense of banks, payday loan, check cashing companies and other "asset strippers" are moving in and providing loans at extraordinarily high interest rates.
- Mid-City CAN is a member of the Affordable Housing Coalition of San Diego County.
