Children's Urgent Care Center provides care to those less severely ill or injured patients. This arrangement uses resources efficiently and frees the emergency care staff to treat the more severe cases that come through its doors, especially during peak evening and weekend hours. Visits typically last less than 90 minutes and prices are competitive with other area hospitals. Additionally, the Urgent Care Center has access to Children's 24-hour pharmacy, as well as the hospital's lab and X-ray capabilities. Interpreters, fluent in all major languages, are available 24 hours a day, and discharge instructions are pre-printed and written in English or Spanish. | Scripps Mercy Hospital Trauma Service provides
care to 2,000 critically injured teens and adults annually. The Trauma Center
plays an important role in reducing the impact of injury by participating
in prevention efforts that target risk factors in the community, including

| This program focuses on children with school attendance problems, grades K - 12 in five school districts. The Probation Department provides a school probation officer at each of the sites to assist in monitoring a child's attendance through direct contact with the child and his/her family. | The UCSD Bi-national Project has developed collaboration with pediatricians and obstetricians delivering HIV care in Baja California. The program provides consultation, care and access to clinical trials to children and pregnant women from Baja California. | The Youth Council is a group of diverse youth and youth service providers who meet to talk about health and social problems that concern youth, specifically HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections. We, youth advocates, speak out for young people who are HIV positive or at risk for HIV infection. As part of a university based program, we link new knowledge with clinical care and train the next generation of healthcare providers. We emphasize a collaborative multi-disciplinary apporach to understanding and addressing the diverse and unique issues facing youth. Collaboration occurs in alliance with local, state and national networks of service providers. UCSD Youth HIV Program provides a full range of services to youth 12 - 24 that are at risk or living with HIV. Services are provided by a youth-friendly staff in a clinic designed by and for youth. |

Y-Friendz provides mentors for children, ages 4 - 15, who have a parent incarcerated. Each mentor meets with the child for 1 - 3 hours per week and commits to mentoring for one year. The program includes monthly events, community service, ongoing mentor training and match support. Eligibility Requirement: Children ages 4 - 15 with an incarcerated parent. |
