Community Power. Police Accountability.

We all deserve to live in safe communities where we can grow, learn, and thrive.

Unfortunately, as we mourn the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and countless Black lives lost at the hands of the police, we are reminded that the police is often what keeps us from being safe in our own communities.

Mid-City CAN's Youth Council is part of a coalition—San Diegans for Justice—making sure the San Diego Police Department is accountable to our community. The San Diego City Council will vote on June 23 to allow our ballot initiative to create an independent, community-led commission on police practices to be on the November 2020 ballot.

Join us for this virtual conversation to learn about our ballot initiative and how you can join the movement for COMMUNITY POWER. POLICE ACCOUNTABILITY.
