Please save the date of our upcoming Thursday June 25th event jointly hosted by The AjA Project, Partnership for the Advancement of New Americans (PANA), and Mid-City CAN called Power Shift: Arts and Advocacy from City Heights. We warmly welcome you, your friends, and your family to join us to celebrate organizing power from City Heights, combining arts and advocacy focused on civil liberties issues: justice-impacted youth & mass incarceration, surveillance, and housing.

The event will take place at an exciting venue with stunning ocean views, the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art!

Meet the Organizations 

The AjA Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in City Heights, San Diego, one of the most diverse areas of the city. The organization works with immigrants, refugees, the transfronterizo community, incarcerated youth, and individuals undergoing processes of transformation. At the heart of its programs is participatory photography, through which youth create their own images and tell their own stories. Click here to donate to The AjA Project.


The Partnership for the Advancement of New Americans (PANA)
is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization based in San Diego dedicated to advancing the economic, social, and civic inclusion of refugees and displaced communities. PANA primarily works with African, Middle Eastern, Muslim, and South Asian (AMEMSA/BAMEMSA) refugee and immigrant communities facing systemic barriers such as discrimination and limited access to essential resources. Mid-City Community Advocacy Network (Mid-City CAN)
is a community-driven nonprofit based in City Heights, San Diego, working to build a safe, healthy, and thriving community through collaboration, advocacy, and organizing.
