Momentum Teams

Momentum Teams, formed by residents living in City Heights, are issue-based teams that plan and organize movement within our local community. These are the centers of advocacy, networking, and project development. Together we've established the Youth Opportunity Pass, two skateparks in City Heights, a Halal school lunch program, provide health resources through our annual LGBTQIA+ Pride Fair and Snowy Wonderland Health Resource Community Event, and many more!

Check out one of our teams and contact a community organizer at the bottom of the page to get involved:

ITCH

Who Should Join ITCH (Improving Transportation in City Heights): Community members who are interested in increasing youth opportunity, combating climate change, and increasing investment in public transportation. Our team meets every second Monday of the month. For more information contact Guadalupe (Lupe) Rojas, [email protected], 619-272-7582 x 104.

Youth Council

Youth Council (youth ages 13-18, no adults please)

Youth Council envisions a world where youth have the ability to participate in decision making spaces and create change in their local communities. You can also earn community service hours by participating with us! Youth Council's advocacy has resulted in two skateparks built in City Heights and $4.25 million from the City of San Diego's budget to revitalize Officer Jeremy Henwood Memorial Park in City Heights. Be part of the youth power!

Civic Health

Civic Health

Our Civic Health team empowers the community through numerous events during the year such as our Annual Health and Pride event, Winter Snowy Wonderland Family Event, voter engagement, and more!

Youth Justice

Youth Justice

Our mission is to raise public awareness about the scope and impact of youth incarceration in San Diego, highlighting the profound harm it inflicts on young people, their families, and the broader community. We are committed to promoting and uplifting effective, compassionate alternatives such as restorative justice and community-based programs that center healing, accountability, and long-term success.
