THE ARTIVISM EXPERIENCE
Join us for a memorable multi-media art experience created by youth from all over San Diego on Saturday, August 10 from 3 to 5 pm!
Mid-City CAN and The AjA Project are excited to invite you to our Artivism Exhibition at the spacious and cool Wilson Middle School multi-purpose room (3733 El Cajon Blvd., San Diego, CA 92105) to celebrate the creativity and talent of our youth! Since July they have been participating in our Summer Artivism Program/Youth-Power Curriculum centered on youth leadership, creating art, and activism. The youth have been filming, taking photos, recording audio, editing, and producing the installation to screen their short films.
This free art event is open to the public and it will be a fun afternoon of viewing original and amazing multi-media art and sharing space with artists and community members. There will also be delicious light refreshments!
ARTIVISM PROJECTS
Students will showcase an experimental short multi-media installation about Environmental Racism and City Neglect. They have spent the past five weeks working hard on their projects and visited Ocean View Growing Grounds and Chicano Park to learn about the environmental racism and city neglect that communities of color are facing.
