Boards & Commissions Leadership Training

About Boards & Commissions Leadership Training

In 2017, Mid-City CAN is launched its inaugural Mid-City Boards and Commissions Training Program for City Heights residents and those committed to the work of Momentum Teams in City Heights.

This program aims to train and place diverse community residents on boards and commissions that are:1) City Heights hyper-local decision-making boards and committees (i.e. City Heights Planning Committee, City Heights Town Council), and 2) San Diego County, School District, and City appointed public commissions and local governance boards that preside over decisions affecting Momentum Team campaigns and issue areas of concern to the Mid-City region.

Mid-City CAN is a proud member of San Diego Leaders, a coalition of organizations that empowers leaders in underrepresented communities to achieve positions of influence in local decision-making agencies with a social justice lens.
