This month we are joining forces and meeting in community at Youth Empowerment in City Heights. Michelle Wales, Director of Programming, and Hector Martines, Lead for After School Programs, will be introducing their incredible work to us.

In this meeting we will be reviewing topics such as:

• The importance of requiring lived experienced mentors in Youth Justice work 
• What is a credible messenger?
• How can we support organizations like Youth Empowerment? 

There will also be a presentation on the current Youth Justice landscape in San Diego which will include details such as updates to our current campaign on Ending Girls Incarceration, data reports from The Vera Institute of Justice, and an introduction to our Youth Justice Community Internships. 

Come and learn how you can support in ending youth incarceration. While the statement is definite, the answers are dynamic and nuanced.
